From Chapman Road to Cook Street, Stage 2 forms the majority of the $15.1 million Glebe Foreshore Project. On completion, the six-stage project will deliver the entire 2.2 kilometre foreshore back to the community as publicly accessible parkland and pathways.Heritage restoration works are due to be complete on Bellevue Cottage by Christmas 2006. But the council isn't quite sure what to do with it . If you are a suitably qualified and experienced organisation with an innovative and viable proposal for the use and fit-out of Bellevue, contact Greg Adcock at Exponential Property Services.
Features of Stage 2 include:
– foreshore walk which is accessible and designed equally for pedestrians and cyclists – high quality parkland with diverse settings – improved access to water for recreational craft – environmental restoration and sustainability – improved pathways, seating, lighting and signage – protection of heritage sea walls and stone docks
Upgrades to Bicentennial Park were complete as part of Stage 1 and Stage 3 will see the historic Bellevue House restored for community use in early 2007. The upgrades to Jubilee and Federal Park will be complete in early 2007. Work on the Stage 6 upgrade to Pyrmont Bridge Road are ongoing as the City works with the State Government and developers to improve access and amenity at the southern end of the foreshore through to the famous Sydney Fish Markets.
Concept plans for the Stage 5 upgrade on the final section of the 2.2 kilometre foreshore promenade adjacent to Sydney Secondary College, Blackwattle Bay Campus are currently being developed in consultation with the school.
