Ultra Mobile PCs in Canberra
At the ACS Canberra Branch meeting Tuesday night I noticed David Macke from Synergistic Network Solutions, taking notes on a Samsung Ultra Mobile PC. It turns out his company sells this and similar portable gadgets. I have been skeptical of the UMPC idea, but it may have its uses. To me the subnotebook computer has wider appeal.

Thanks for noticing Tom, although some of the UMPC thing is about form factor I'm really quite taken by the getting back to the action of Writing. I'm running Vista and Office Enterprise 2007 so I get all the goodness that is Groove and OneNote 2007. But for me it really is the writing. I blogged about what I like about my UMPC here http://mackie.is-a-geek.net/blogs/david/archive/2007/09/24/How-much-am-I-Lurving-my-Q1-Ultra_3F00_.aspx
Take care
