Internet Reality Check
5:30pm Friday, 30 January 1998
Young and Jackson's upstairs pub (home of the famous Chloe), corner of Flinders and Swanston Sts, Melbourne
Topic: Knowbots to Wobots: Automation On-line
Special Guests: Speakers from VALA'98
The Victorian Association for Library Automation (VALA) conference is a major Australian forum where the use of technology in libraries is discussed. The VALA 1998 Biennial Conference, 28 - 30 January 1998, "Robots to Knowbots: The Wider Automation Agenda", will explore not only the electronic/digital management of information, but also a wide range of infrastructure topics.
IRCs are free (but you have to buy your own drinks) and open to anyone interested: just turn up (let Jan Whitaker know you are coming, e-mail: jwhit@primenet.com). Internet Reality Check (not to be confused with Internet Relay Chat) is designed so that members of the 'net community can meet and exchange the small amount of very important information which is not suitable for digital transmission. ;-)
