Internet Reality Check
5:30pm Friday, 13 February 1998
Bar & Board Room, National Press Club, Canberra
Topic: An Unconventional Constitution - For the People, by the Net?
Special Guests: Web Workers from the Constitutional Convention
The Australian Constitutional Convention will finish on Friday. Several organizations and individuals provided coverage of the event via the Internet. Join them, members of the press gallery and Internet workers in discussing how we might use the Internet for government, to conduct Government and implement on-line democracy. There is no planned presentation for this event, it is a free-for-all in the IRC tradition.
IRCs are free (but you have to buy your own drinks and one for the special guest) and open to anyone interested: just turn up. Internet Reality Check (not to be confused with Internet Relay Chat) is designed so that members of the 'net community can meet and exchange the small amount of very important information which is not suitable for digital transmission. ;-)
