Special Guests:
Howard Baldwin, Senior Editor, CIO Magazine, USA
and Polly Schneider, Senior Writer
What are Chief Information Officers perceptions of the current issues in information technology? Do these differ between the USA and Australia?
Howard Baldwin and Polly Schneider are planning a package of stories for the June 1999 issue of the US based CIO Magazine on the challenges facing chief information officers in Australia. This is part of their "CIO On The Road" series which has previously visited China and South America. The goal of this series is to enlighten CIOs by showing how their peers in other regions are solving basic problems facing IT.
Join Howard and Polly to discuss the topic "What do CIOs See?" at the first IRC of the year. Some issues:
AUSTRALIA...- GATEWAY TO ASIA AND THE WORLD?
- TELECOMMUNICATIONS HUB?
- PUBLIC SECTOR, PRIVATE SECTOR COOPERATION
- DEALING WITH OTHER CULTURES
- AUSTRALIA PUSHING THE ENVELOPE
- GOVERNMENT OUTSOURCING: YEA OR NAY?
- ANY IMPORTANT TOPICS WE'VE MISSED?
Howard and Polly will be in Australia in the second half of February, visiting Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Canberra (Canberra 17th February). They'd like to talk to as many CIOs as possible. Contact:
