Future Use

  1. Scholarly Publishing: Metadata could automatically populate publication lists, research gateways and quality assessment systems. This data would be available to government and other organisations assessing research efforts as well as researchers and the general public.
  2. Australian Government Smart Card Project: The Australian Government has proposed a health and social services access card (or "smart card") to improve services and lower costs. Metadata and eCommerce technologies could be used either implement the smart card or provide an alternative.
  3. Podcasting for Network Centric Warfare: Podcasting is the distribution of media files using web based syndication to handheld devices. This could be used for Network Centric Warfare with the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning & Control aircraft and Landing Helicopter Dock Ship.
